The PLAYER Group has staged numerous charitable events around the world over the last four decades including the Nelson Mandela Invitational in South Africa, The Big Three Invitational hosted by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player as well as the Gary Player Invitational in Asia, UAE, Europe and the USA.
These boutique events all helped raise funds for The PLAYER Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 entity whose primary beneficiaries are underprivileged children’s education. We are currently working on the Ian Player Indaba to support wildlife conservation causes as well as the inaugural Samora Machel Invitational in Mozambique to honor the late president and his family.
The PLAYER Foundation was established in 1983 by Marc Player in order to support the local farm children in his native South Africa. Since then, the foundation has grown tremendously and raised over $75 million for underprivileged children worldwide wide through staging a global series of charitable golf events. We own, manage and operate these tournaments and raise funds through participation fees, auctions, donation and grants. The PLAYER Foundation is a registered tax exempt 501 (c)3 organization within the United States of America.
